Treeline Cirque and New Condo Listings

Hello Friends,

It is a beautiful fall day in Tahoe.  Leaves are beginning to change color, the air is crisp and clear, and daytime temperatures are just right for biking and hiking.

I was riding my bike yesterday in the vicinity of the Tahoe City Nordic Center for the first time in a number of weeks.  I was taking by surprised as I rode away for the parking area and discovered a large forest management project underway. Piles of large tree trunks and huge piles of tree branches and small trees greeted me as I rode along.  Machines were cutting and laying large trees onto the ground.  Although I understand the need for forest management to assist in reducing or preventing wildfires, it was rather depressing to me to devastation of so many trees that were alive and growing just weeks ago.  On the other had the weather was great for riding and the trails are no longer dusty as the snow and rain we had earlier in the week has done wonders for riders.

We walked up to the top of the new Treeline Cirque lift just to get some exercise a couple of days ago.

A couple of photos of the top station which is just west of Art’s Knob and a shot looking down the line toward the midstation where the lift turns (top of the old Hot Wheels Lift) are attached.  It really looks steep in the summer.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
