Hello Skiers and Boarders,
After a day of mostly groomed trails a new quest was introduced to my group of friends this morning.
The quest was to ski 30,000 or more vertical feet by the end of our day. We were successful in our quest and completed by 2pm.. A majority of the trails we skied were not groomed, although we did ski plenty of them as part of a run. The sky was again clear and the winds were not a deterrent. It was not as cold as it was yesterday and the day before, but it was cool enough to keep all north facing slopes in good winter condition. South facing slopes softened late in the morning and into the afternoon. A photo me skiing D5 is attached that should give you an idea of the blue sky and nice winter snow between D7 and Wolverine.
We really did not have much snow to complain about today. South Face at Sherwood was lovely soft spring snow, Palisades and High Yellow were excellent winter pack. Even Low Beaver and the slope about Kangaroo proved enjoyable. Although it is supposed to warm up this weekend, I think the skiing will remain excellent.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
