Blue Sky and a Birthday

Hello Skiers and Boarders,

We had a fantastic morning on the hill today.  Not a cloud in the sky until noon which is about the most we seem to be able to hope for these days.

It is my birthday today.  I was surprised this morning as I entered the locker room by a group of my good friends who provided cup cakes, a candle for me to blow out along with a secret wish I made, wonderful birthday cards, and some fun birthday favors (hats and birthday tiaras). We headed out to enjoy the sunny slopes with the party favors attached to our helmets (see the attached group photo).  Attached is a photo of a couple of us skiing down Dance Floor (Dave and Bob L.) with the favors on our helmets.  I have also attached a couple of photos of the wind blowing snow over the road from Summit to Alpine Bowl Chair as the storm began to move in to the area. One photo of the High Yellow Slope is also attached that I hope shows how good the snow was today.  Soft packed powder, smooth wind buff, and a few moguls.

We skied an number of runs off the Summit Chair.  Palisades, Tower 19, Sunspot, North Peril, D7, and High Yellow along with a few groomed runs at the beginning of the day.  Gentian and High Yellow Gully were in excellent shape.  I had plenty of be grateful for this birthday.

Of course it is snowing again this afternoon.  What else is new!

Enjoy your day,

Andy
