Hello Skiers and Boarders,
It was another perfect day of skiing in the Sierra. Cold morning temperatures, squeaky snow, and some patches of light powder remaining. There lots of soft bumps and perfect groomed runs to tear up on the mountain. Areas under Alpine Bowl Chair are nicely skier packed as is High Yellow. Gentian Gully is soft and beautiful. We skied an area my partner calls Subway Cliffs which is between Gentian Gully and Promised Land. I am not sure if it was actually the area around Butcher Block, but it is pretty steep and filled with soft skier cut powder. On a run through Low Beaver Bowl I stopped to take a couple of photos of tracks on the north side of the Bowl. Snow conditions on the south facing slope as you drop down to Kangaroo was beginning to transition from cold winter powder to crunchy spring snow.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
