Sun and Powder

Hello Skiers and Boarders,

After a number of days of heavy snow and one day of closed terrain the sun took over handing us a spectacular day in which to enjoy some great skiing. We were not alone. Both Alpine and Squaw claimed the parking lots to be full. However, the lines were not really unbearable with the exception of the normal pile up before the lifts begin to accept patrons.

There was plenty of good deep powder to ski on most of the mountain. There were also areas that were wind packed and not such a delight. One of the wind packed spots was in the Outer Limits terrain, fun but work. I left some nice tracks in the Big Bend area of High Traverse, Seldom Slides of Scott, and Gentian Gully.

Winds were blowing quite strongly at the top of Summit Chair which made D7 specially nice.

It was a very good day. A couple of pictures are attached and a link to a short video I took from the deck of the main lodge before the lifts opened.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
