Hello Skiers and Boarders,
Saturday was a wet day at Alpine. Low cloud cover with off and on drizzle. Snow conditions were not very good on most of the mountain and terrible on some part of the hill. Gentian Gully was reported to be terrible. Wet snow that made for very difficult skiing conditions. Some of the skier packed areas were acceptable such as Scott Chute and someone mentioned Peter’s Peril. We made a few early runs on Roundhouse and Scott. Dance floor was pretty good on the first run. Yellow trail was horrible. We went into dry off at 9:30 and agreed to wait until 10 head back out. Photo attached of Mark and Ann anxiously waiting for the clock behind them to click to 10 so they could head back out.
This morning it is raining and windy. The mountain was on lightning hold for awhile. A winter storm warning is up for up to 2 feet of snow tonight with temperatures and snow levels dropping to 3500 feet. Then cold temperatures set in with an east wind. At least that is the forecast I read.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
