Hello skiers and boarders,
It was another clear sunny day in Tahoe with temperatures just slightly below those of yesterday. Conditions are remaining similar each day as cool air and short days have been kind to the slopes. North facing trails are covered with moguls that have grown over the past couple of weeks, but the snow consistency continues to be firm winter pack. West facing slopes, such as Bobby’s run and Ridge Run off the Scott Chair have been very firm in the morning hours. Yesterday they softened around noon, but today at 11:30 they were still pretty firm. I did not venture over to Sherwood as it seemed it would be firm as well. However, I did really enjoy the slopes on the front side of Alpine. I found pleasant hard packed moguls of various sizes in D7, Sunspot, Terry’s Return, and Wolverine. In fact the east wind that was blowing this morning over ridge deposited some soft snow in the troughs of the moguls in D7. Of course there are some groomed slopes varied in firmness.
Red Ridge, Werner’s Schuss, and even parts of Fall Line remain firm packed winter snow.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
