Hello Skiers and Boarders,
Sunshine and 5 inches of new snow created us this morning. Cool temperatures registering in the 20’s along with a brisk wind kept the snow in good shape during the morning hours. Under the new snow was a layer of ice which created noise and bumpy conditions on certain runs. The upper section of Lakeview (Mountain View and Outer Limits) was a disaster. However, Scott Meadow (see video below), Riley’s Run, Lower Shuttle Cornice, and the between the trees at the upper section of Sherwood were delightful. We dashed in and out of dense trees at Sherwood and Lakeview. Tower 19 accepted turns early in the morning. There were lots of tracks in Lower Saddle and Keyhole Slopes today as well as the slopes above Kangaroo. We just seemed to end up at Scott, Sherwood, and Lakeview for most of the day. The best is to be finding untracked snow at noon on a powder day.
Below is the YouTube video of Mark Fisher spooning my turns in Scott Meadows.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
