Hello Skiers and Boarders,
There were a lot of happy faces on the hill today. We received more snow last night. It was cold light snow that made for a nice topping for the surface. Most of the mountain was open by midday (High Traverse, Beaver, and Estelle Bowls open later in the morning). First tracks in Gentian Gull made my day. No rush and foot deep light snow. There is nothing better. Midday we had fresh tracks when High Traverse opened. The snow was a little heavier, but still delightful. The powder was skier packed quickly, but it was still good winter snow with small moguls growing. We found clean lines far out on the South Face of Sherwood, soft snow in Expert Shortcut, perfect moguls in Gentian Gully later in the day, and good tree skiing in Outer Limits. We ended the day with a tour through the tree in Field of Dreams. It was perfect. A couple of pictures are attached.
I personally enjoyed seeing blue sky for part of the day. It has been awhile since we have seen the sun on the mountain. I hope your day was as good as mine.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
