Smooth Groomers and Winter Moguls

Hello Skiers and Boarders,

A spring day sprung to life in the Sierra this morning. Cold early morning temperatures faded as the morning progressed leading to a warm afternoon. After a quick warm up on Roundhouse we loaded onto the shuttle and headed to Squaw. Soft winter snow lured us over the mountain for the day where we enjoyed some smooth groomed runs and plenty of winter moguls on the steeper slopes. It was fun turning down Granite Chief in the various style bumps. Some were small, some were larger, some were rounded, and others were cut like the bow of a ship.

We wound down Headwall skiing the Hogsback and even turned through the Horse Trails. Although G.S. Bowl receives sun, as it faces east, the snow off this KT-22 Lift was still in good form. Sun Bowl looked good from the top of Headwall, but forget it for now. A bad idea that was mine. A groomed run down Squaw Creek and another mixed with moguls off the Red Dog Chair completed a very nice morning at Squaw.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
