Hello Skiers and Boarders,
An entire day of snow falling from the sky has been rare this year. Today, however, it has snowed all day on the slopes at Alpine and continues this afternoon. My guess is that we have received about 10 inches since early this morning. The snow is light, Alta style. Temperatures were hanging in the low teens at the Summit. Winds were brisk at the ridge and visibility was questionable most of the day. It was a refill day. A day when tracks are filled in many times during the day. It was easier to ski near the trees. Peril Ridge, D7, and High Yellow were soft and visibility was a little better in those areas. We skied Tower 19 a number of times as it seemed to be relatively untracked and about a foot deep.
Scott was on wind hold, but Summit remained open all day. Lines were nil. Main runs were full of skiers, but we found plenty of lightly used slopes.
A good day for powder starved skiers.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
