Bundle Up

Hello Skiers and Boarders,

Cold, clear morning clouds have moved over the Tahoe area. It is looking like we may receive 6 inches of snow at lake level beginning late tonight and lasting into the afternoon tomorrow. It is going to be very cold tomorrow with brisk winds and temperatures in the single digits rising into the twenties. The good news is that we will receive snow. Given our skimpy base the light snow that will be coming down may not help the off piste coverage, but we will take anything that looks white at this point in time.

This morning was enjoyable. Fingers and toes were a little cold, but the snow was squeaky. Early morning groomed runs were smooth and fast. They seemed to get shaved off and slick a little earlier today than in the past few days. We did try Bobby’s Run and Ridge Run off Scott where they have been making snow for the last two days. Both are now well covered with Ridge better in my opinion. Off piste is acceptable in places and firm and rough in others. D7 and North Peril offer winter snow mixed with slick spots. The same is true for High Yellow and areas below Palisades. Wolverine under Idiots (Lower Idiot’s) is not really that great. A little light winter snow covering lumpy clumps of ice. This is a rough ride even for expert skiers.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
