What is New At Alpine?

Hello Skiers and Boarders,

If you love speed and smooth groomed runs, then you would have loved the slopes this morning.  Early is best as the soft top layer and the grooved corduroy gets shaved off and becomes smooth and firm later in the morning.  Of course we are skiing the same groomed runs each morning do to the lack of snow on the rest of the mountain.  Cold temperatures during the week allowed for snowmaking.  Off piste has been difficult this week as the cold winds and temperatures kept moguls frozen all day.

One of my ski buddies claimed the groomed runs this mornings were epic and exhilarating.  I guess this is what happens when you do not get any real snow storms for an extended period of time.

What is new at Alpine Meadows?  Check out the attached photo of the cattle separators installed at Summit Chair.  I am not sure what the purpose of this item is unless it is to assist skiers and boarders count to six.

Enjoy your day,

Andy

  1. Those cattle separators don’t even seem to help people count to six… lot’s of people confused, blocking the loading area, and letting two-person chairs go up when there are 30 people waiting to get up.
