Nice Spring Skiing in January

Hello Skiers and Boarders,

Warm air created spring conditions late this morning.  By 11 O’clock slopes facing the sun sported a soft top layer that skied very nicely.  Below Tower 19 to the west of Sunspot and Terry’s Return had a soft corn-like surface.  Lower groomed runs such as Dance Floor had a deeper spring top layer.  We were not out early enough to take advantage of the morning corduroy, but our later start allowed us to ski off piste which would have been a jolting experience early in the day.  Most of the east facing slopes in Wolverine offered up enjoyable spring snow.  North facing slopes such as Palisades were frozen solid and sat alone during my ski day.  A small group of skiers was on the hill today giving those on the slopes plenty of space to turn.  My friend and I thought the skiing was above average today (considering the season as a whole).  A photo of Wolverine Bowl is attached.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
