Off Piste

Hello Skiers and Boarders,

A light breeze blew over the ridge top this morning.  Temperatures were in the 30’s but warm at the base into the 40’s this afternoon.  A few more people hit the hill today as the holiday season gets into full swing.

The good news is that more lifts have opened do to the snowmaking crew.  Scott Chair was operating as was Yellow Chair.  Scott was very limited with firm manmade snow on Ridge Run.  We skied Bobby’s a few times.  Picking our way through the tops section and enjoying the lower section which was soft winter snow (not groomed).  We also ventured over to High Yellow below (the lower portion of High Yellow Face and Our Father).  Again, we took care turning around small trees that are not buried under snow yet. The snow has a winter chalky surface that is skier packed.  It was good to see many friends who were returning to Alpine for the first time season.  Everyone seemed to be in a good mood and glad that the skiing is slightly more than acceptable.

Bobby’s Run

Enjoy your day,

Andy
