Hello Skiers and Boarders,
East winds came back for a visit this morning closing the upper mountain. Editor’s note: Alpine Bowl Chair did open in the afternoon around 1:30, although Alpine Bowl was very firm. Winds at the ridge were gusting to 90 miles per hours at 9am. A warm coat was called for in the morning hours as the thermometer read 12 degrees at the starting bell.
We had fun riding Roundhouse and poking around off piste. The snow in the Sympathy area had chalky winter surface with a few slick areas. Yellow Trail opened with some nice soft snow on the upper portion of the trail. The lower area takes skill, and some luck, to avoid hitting rocks. A few good turns good be found in the area we call Chicken Leg just to the side of Yellow Trail. Again, ski lightly as obstacles are hiding just under the surface. Efforts are being made to open Yellow Chair. Yellow chair is on the schedule for tomorrow Snowmaking was going full blast on Ridge Run with hopes of opening Scott Chair in the near future.
I heard some precipitation may be coming along as a Christmas Present to skiers.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
