Hello Skiers and Boarders,
The sun is coming up in Tahoe. The sky is clear blue. The temperature is 45 degrees and projected to be over 50 today. We skied on Kangaroo for an hour yesterday. Plenty of snow on the main run. Good for getting some fresh air in the lungs and checking equipment, but not really exciting. The day before we were at Squaw. Spring skiing on the upper mountain was very acceptable. Shirley Lake and Siberia were pretty well covered. I did not hit any rocks.
Gold Coast and Emigrant were running. Coverages on these trails was also reasonable. I am not sure how long the rocks will be hidden with this warm weather and perhaps more skiers on the hill, but it was enjoyable on Tuesday. People were skiing parts of Headwall as well, although the lift was not running.
Note from Oznorts on today’s conditions: more people showed up today than yesterday, but runs were not crowded and lift lines were not longer than two minutes throughout the time I skied. Clouds came in around 12:30 which made the light flat, and the breeze kept the snow from getting sticky. Our first couple of runs at around 11 were a little firm, but it softened up shortly after. Overall, it was another great early-season day of skiing! Thanks to the mountain ops for getting and keeping both Squaw and Alpine open!
Bike trails are open for riding and walking which might be an alternative to hitting the slopes.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
