Hello Skiers and Boarders,
Alpine and Squaw have opened. Squaw opened yesterday and increased the operating lifts today. All open lifts at Squaw are on the upper mountain. Alpine opened Kangaroo today. A light crowd of locals turned out to test equipment and make a few turns on a firm manmade surface. The mountain itself looks pretty good. The upper mountain has a good base with the lower mountain looking close to being in ski condition.
Not much else to report from Alpine. Locker room 3 is offering tables, chairs and benches so we can sit and put on boots etc.. Lockers are on a ship coming from Germany. I am told these are really nice lockers that are on the way. In the meantime the room is set up like a ski check room. Shelving to store clothing, boots etc. and racks for skis. There will be an attendant to tag and store our equipment.
