Near Perfect Skiing

Hello Skiers and Riders,

There was some disagreement among my ski buddies this afternoon as to the rating of skiing today.  One person thought the skiing was better yesterday and gave today an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.  Another thought today was an 11, and others gave it a 9.  I enjoyed today more than yesterday, although both were excellent.  Today was a perfect day in my book as the sky was clear, the air cool, and the winds nowhere to be found.  Excellent winter snow covers the mountain and the lift lines were none existent.

I did not find any poor conditions on any aspects of the mountain.  The morning corduroy was smooth, soft, and held my edge easily.  Off piste we found soft cutup and skier packed winter snow.  D7, North Peril, Peter’s Peril, Waterfall, Palisades, Our Father and more were just the way are supposed to be this time of year.  Even south facing slopes under the Sherwood Chair had not frozen overnight and were a pleasure to ski.  Scotty’s Beam under the Lakeview Chair offered small soft moguls.  We dropped into Our Father from the top of Sherwood.  It was as good as it gets.  Filled with fluffy soft snow and easy turning moguls.

It was a day to have a camera and stop to soak in the views.  A couple of pictures are attached.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
