A Little Side Country

Hello Skiers and Riders,

All lifts opened at 9 this morning with the exception of Alpine Bowl Chair which appeared buried in snow.  There was a little sun and then cloud blew in for the umpteenth day in a row.  It was very cold this morning, two degrees at my house, and some winds were blowing at the top of Summit.  We took a few runs on Summit skiing under the ABC and on nicely groomed slopes before heading out for some side country skiing in search of powder to etch.

We were not disappointed today in our exploration for the untracked stash.  With a full crowd at Alpine and Squaw we still found a quite and beautiful place to play.  A couple of photos are attached.

Cold temperatures are to continue overnight which will keep the winter pack in good condition for the weekend.  Of course, weather is coming in that may create a new powder surface, but might also close lifts if winds howl like they have been recently.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
