Hello Skiers and Riders,
It was another day of mixed weather with sun, clouds, and snow showers. The good news is that temperatures have finally dropped and may be in the single digits tonight. A few inches of light snow fell overnight giving the mountain a fresh coat for the early morning turns.
Lift lines were tolerable most of the day although the line at Summit was pretty long. Almost every lift was operating at some point today. Sherwood open late in the morning. ABC lift did not open, and I am not sure if Lakeview ever opened, but they were digging it out.
The mountain is fat with snow. Cliffs are gone from view. We skied Scott Chair and Sherwood today enjoying plenty of powder and/or soft skier pack. Gentian, Promised Land, and Seldom Slides were excellent. Juniper Face looked good. High Yellow Face and the Keyhole also looked awesome. Beaver, Estelle and beyond were open later in the morning and must have offered up so good knee deep powder. Some of the south facing slopes set up a bit overnight and were not perfect, but everything facing north was excellent.
Some of our best turns were in untracked areas of Lakeview that we traversed to from Scott Chair. We also found light deep snow in Reily’s Run which had not been groomed last night. This was one of the better days we have had in awhile. Cold snow, lifts operating, and plenty of places to ski.
A couple of photos are attached.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
