It looks like SquAlpine skiers can look forward to lift-served summer skiing! In a midseason blog post and email by Andy Wirth, SVSH President and CEO, the company reflects on the weather, traffic, and mountain safety during this season.
Closing the letter, Wirth writes:
Our passion for these mountains is real and very genuine. We recognize that in the context of remarkable and historic weather circumstances, we can and will do better…by way of our commitment to review and improve our operations so we can more effectively communicate with you. This is our commitment, and we remain very appreciative of your support and understanding, and look forward to sharing many more powder days with you as we’ll certainly be skiing well into June, and likely with lifts turning on July 4 as well!
While Wirth ends the email with:
It’s not a question of if, but how far into June we will be open. And it’s not a question of if, but how many lifts we will be running over 4th of July!
While Wirth’s statement is not an official operations update, this season’s above average snowfall does make it look like we’ll be skiing in June, and maybe even July! Wirth’s letter also does not make it clear which mountain will operate in the summer, or if both will.
The company also shared the below video of 90+ MPH winds at the top of Summit Six earlier in the season.
